... a Youtuber, Rambler, Bitchuter you are and so very successful that very soon or perhaps already, you want to go semi-pro – in which respect it means that you are approaching a point such, in which you know that pushing it any further might result in a total disaster only, if an interruption in your data availability occurred, not to mention a loss of parts or entirety of your data. (was Youtube to kick you below the belt as some “moderator” woke up sick one morning and decided your video breached some guidelines or some code "of conduct" and you... had no copy of your own stuff). You should keep copies and archives of those and run highly available systems which would take care of it all.
Can keep me data on an external hard disk - you think? Yeah, sure! for it's an extra copy which will do - one says - if a corporation turned rouge and decided to confiscate my content. Well, you can but it's a gamble and anyway, most likely one such disk be not enough if/when you are semi/pro. Also, clearly, bigger the disk bigger the gamble. Inappropriate it would be to even compare such "backup" drive to highly available & resilient local storage system, to a cloud, a cloud local at your place! - even if local, if your place is just a room you adapted to serve as film recording studio - in which case you are semi-pro video producer already, so... be that same "pro" about your data, be serious all the way.
